After many sketches, this simple, organic-shaped butterfly is based on ovals—unlike my other seasonal butterflies and the often-pointed, angular designs of snowflakes. As a native to Salt Lake City, I’ve experienced many freezing winters, and I’m always in awe of the brilliant reflections of lights on ice and show. ‘Glisten’ glows with transparent layers of cool blues, pinks, purples, and iridescent tones—surrounded by cross-hatching hues of blue—reminiscent of sparkling snowflakes and glistening winters of hibernating nature.” ~Darin Jones
BIO: Darin Jones is a unique and diverse artist--ranging in styles from photo-realism to abstracts and mediums from graphite to acrylic--while creating and applying his art to canvas, textiles, furniture, home décor, messenger bags, mugs, and more. Jones's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and festivals in New York, Nevada, and Utah, and collected privately throughout the United States and internationally.
