“GLISTEN represents winter in my series of seasonal butterflies. After many sketches, this simple, organic-shaped butterfly is based on ovals—unlike my other seasonal butterflies and the often-pointed, angular designs of snowflakes. As a native to Salt Lake City, I’ve experienced many freezing winters, and I’m always in awe of the brilliant reflections of lights on ice and show. ‘Glisten’ glows with transparent layers of cool blues, pinks, purples, and iridescent tones—surrounded by cross-hatching hues of blue—reminiscent of sparkling snowflakes and glistening winters of hibernating nature.” ~Darin Jones
