Artist's Description
“AUTOPSY is an early drawing of mine from October, 1989, when I was invited by my high school art teacher to ‘draw upon’ my imagination and create something for Halloween. Autopsy is the result of a gruesome and grotesque combination of my study of anatomy and one too many horror flicks. When I began drawing the skull, I was so frustrated and hated it—to the point of wanting to crumble it up and toss it in the can—but, just then, I had a feeling to stick with it and keep going. Good thing! My teacher said it was my best drawing to date, but alas, was asked by the school counselor if I was ‘all right’ and if I needed to come in the office for a little ‘chat’. NOTE: The original has a few ‘scuffs and scars’; however, the digital file has been cleaned-up for reproductions.” ~Darin Jones

BIO: Darin Jones is a unique and diverse artist--ranging in styles from photo-realism to abstracts and mediums from graphite to acrylic--while creating and applying his art to canvas, textiles, furniture, home décor, messenger bags, mugs, and more. Jones's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and festivals in New York, Nevada, and Utah, and collected privately throughout the United States and internationally.
